Every Christmas Eve, Australians come together to celebrate the spirit of Christmas and community. When you support Carols by Candlelight, you’re not only partaking in a cherished Australian tradition, but you’re also making a positive impact on the lives of children who are blind or have low vision.

Your ticket purchases and donations directly contribute to the Life Ready Program creating a safe, supportive environment to connect children and young people, aged 0 to 25, and their families to their peers so they can grow together; while a team of experts help them develop critical life skill areas.

Lucy's story

Lucy is a smart and cheerful three-year-old, whose smile lights up any room she is in. In the first three months of Lucy’s life, she endured numerous tests and medical appointments due to her prematurity, all while glaucoma remained hidden beneath the surface as an unexpected culprit.

Lui's story

Lui's journey began when he was born prematurely at 37 weeks. From the very start, his parents knew he was a small baby, and the prospect of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) became a reality.

Vision Australia’s Life Ready Program is designed to encourage and support childhood development and the education of children and young people who are blind or have low vision, so they can form strong foundations for life, true meaningful participation and lifelong employment.

Your support makes this possible

Funds raised via Carols by Candlelight have helped to achieve some incredible outcomes this year:

1832 children and young people received more than 27,916 hours of support including physiotherapy, speech pathology, orientation and mobility, and early intervention.

13 young people graduated from the LEAP program, a 10 month program that builds leadership skills.

16 teens took part in LEAP Up, a five week program that helps students prepare for tertiary education
