Auslan Interpretation

At the Sidney Myer Music Bowl

Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is used by the Deaf community in Australia. Auslan Interpretation is offered for the performance on Saturday 24th December only. To book tickets near the interpreter in the General Admission Lawn. You can book into this section at the time of purchasing tickets, by adding the code AUSLAN into the password box on the Ticketek webpage for Carols by Candlelight. These tickets are subject to availability.
We want as many people as possible to experience the magic of Carols by Candlelight. Here is how we are working to make our event accessible to all audiences.

Audio Description

At the Sidney Myer Music Bowl

The Vision Australia Radio team provide professional audio description for attendees who are blind or have low vision. Audio description gives a live description of what is happening on the stage, and is delivered through receivers that are handed out from the Information stall at the event.

You can book an audio description receiver at the time of purchasing tickets, by following the prompt on the Ticketek webpage, or over the phone at 1300 130 300.

 

Broadcast to your home

Vision Australia Radio will provide a separate commentary of the nights events alongside audio description for those listening at home.


The AD commentary will extend further to painting a picture of what is happening in the space and how attendees are reacting to performances on stage. The program will air live across the Vision Australia Radio Network from 8pm in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and regional Victoria.
