Sarah Abo head shot

Sarah Abo is the co-host of Channel 9’s flagship breakfast program, TODAY, alongside Karl Stefanovic with the pair making their debut on January 16, 2023.

With Karl and Sarah’s genuinely lighthearted and warm warm rapport, they’ve proven to be one of Australia’s most dynamic journalistic pairings. The pair share a natural rhythm in their expert coverage of major news and honed interviewing abilities –matched only by their willingness to have a laugh–quite often at themselves!

One of Australia’s most accomplished journalists, and widely trusted by Australian audiences, Sarah Abo began her career at Network Ten, spending two years in the Adelaide newsroom before making the move back to Melbourne, and in 2013 to joining SBS as a journalist and presenter.

She has covered major international events including the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, the 2016 US presidential election and the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan, and the 2017-18 refugee crisis in Lebanon, Turkey and Greece.

Joining the 60 MINUTES team in 2019, Sarah has covered major investigations and interviewed former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed, and secured Australian-first interviews with climate activist Greta Thunberg, Ukrainian first lady Olena Volodymyrivna Zelenska, and one of the Taliban's most powerful leaders Suhail Shaheen.

Born in Damascus, Syria, Sarah moved to Australia with her family when she was four. A proud Melbournian at heart, Sarah has relocated to Sydney and is truly at home in her exciting role co-hosting TODAY.
