Tickets go on sale this Friday for Melbourne’s biggest Christmas event.

With a rich history of supporting children who are blind or have low vision, Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight presented by AAMI will once again bring the magic of Christmas to life at the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl this Christmas Eve.

Tickets for Christmas Eve and the rehearsal night on December 23 are available to purchase this Friday October 11 via the website: www.carolsbycandlelight.com.au.

Since its inception in 1938, Carols by Candlelight has become a cherished event for many across the state, and even the country.  In addition to its captivating performances, Carols by Candlelight is a vital fundraiser with proceeds directly supporting Vision Australia’s Life Ready program and other specialist services for children and young people who are blind or have low vision across Australia.

“We are delighted to continue this wonderful Christmas tradition for another year. Not only does Carols by Candlelight display some of Australia’s finest musical talent, but it plays a vital role in allowing Vision Australia to provide life-changing services to children and young people who are blind or have low vision to ensure they can lead an independent life and follow their dreams like their peers,” said Vision Australia Acting CEO Justine Heath.

“I invite families and friends to come together and celebrate this special time of year with us at the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl. With their help, we can empower children living with blindness and low vision through our services and programs, such as access to specialised allied healthcare professionals, advocacy, educational resources and a supportive community.”

A mix of familiar favourites and new talent will take the stage for a night of Christmas carolling and entertainment. Marina Prior, Silvie Paladino, David Hobson and Denis Walter have been confirmed, with more exciting talent to be announced in November.

AAMI, Australia’s leading personal insurer, is continuing its support for events that have a real impact on all Australians. Embracing the true spirit of togetherness during the festive season, AAMI proudly sponsors Carols by Candlelight, recognising its importance as a cherished Christmas tradition and vital fundraiser.
“Carols by Candlelight is a beloved Australian tradition which brings the community together every year to celebrate the festive season. We’re proud to partner with Vision Australia and showcase their invaluable work supporting children and families, and spread the joy of Carols across the nation this Christmas”, said Mim Haysom, Executive General Manager Brand and Customer Experience, Suncorp.

For those who wish to watch from home, the full show will be broadcast on Channel 9 and 9Now live from 8pm on Christmas Eve, as well as a replay on Christmas Day.
You can also tune in to the simulcast on 2UE 954 in Sydney, 4BH in Brisbane and Magic 1278 in Melbourne for your listening pleasure. Additionally, Vision Australia Radio will provide professional audio description through their local stations and online for an accessible listening experience.
